Tenuta Ebner Alto Adige Chardonnay 2016

Tenuta Ebner Alto Adige Chardonnay 2016

A symphonic and delicate nose with floral hints, purity of fruit, aromatic herbs, graphite and hints of spice. Its peculiar elegance is striking due to the well-marked rhythm in the dynamism of the sip and the weightless structure that captures the palate, enraptured by sublime drinkability. A profound and savoury closure.

This is the first vintage ever produced and we were surprised by this seven-year-old, vivid and tense chardonnay produced from 30-year-old pergola-trained vines whose roots delve into porphyry soils. The vineyard is isolated, surrounded by rock and forest and cooled by winds from the Renon. The wine comes from a small 6-hectare estate on the slopes of the Renon plateau owned by Florian Hintner, whose family has been running the property for more than a hundred years, although the first bottlings only date back some ten years.
