Tascante – Ghiaia Nera 2021

The nose is well developed and offers a small fruit, a fine rocky minerality side as well as fine varietal hints (noble). It reveals notes of wild blackberry, pulpy/juicy cherry and small notes of small pulpy fruits associated with touches of local grove as well as a discreet hint of olive leaf. The palate is mineral and offers a nice fruitiness, purity as well as a certain brightness of the fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy raspberry, pulpy/bright cherry and small notes of racy minerality associated with volcanic minerality, small touches of cassis (in the background) as well as a hint of toasted almond, local groves and a subtle hint of spices. Good length. Presence of a discreet hint of balsamic and star anise in the background. Tannins are supple and suaves. A discreet chewiness and sapidity on the finish.
