Sylvain Bruneau, Les Pentes 2022 – Saint – Nicolas de Bourgueil

The wine has a bright ruby color. The nose is reserved at first and requires ventilation. It then expresses notes of red cherry, fresh raspberry, crunchy strawberry, blackcurrant and crushed blueberry, combined with herbaceous notes of blackcurrant leaf, crushed mint, as well as a touch of peony and violet. The palate is juicy, fruity and savoury, slightly spicy. We find notes of crushed raspberry, wild strawberry, crushed red cherry, blueberry and a hint of blackcurrant, associated with notes of violet, peony, blackcurrant leaf and dried mint in the background. Beautiful tannin structure: the tannins are firm, but have a fine texture and not drying. The finish is tangy, gourmand and fresh, with medium persistence. A well-constructed and straightforward wine.
