Staglin Family Vineyard – Salus – Chardonnay Estate 2013 – Napa Valley

The nose is fruity, fresh, a bit gourmand and offers a certain intensity. It reveals notes of butter, ripe fruit, white fruit (Williams pear…) and citrus combined with touches of flowers, fresh fruit, small stone fruit as well as fine notes honey and wood (light). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, well defined, a bit aerial and offers minerality, a fresh frame, acidity as well as a silky, fleshy and a slightly unctuous matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of stone fruit, pear, apricot and touches of citrus associated with a hint of exotic fruits, papaya, lemon as well as fine touches of honey, (very) slight notes of butter, minerality and a discreet hint of lemon zest. Good length.
