Staglin Family Vineyard – Estate Chardonnay 2015 – Rutherford – Napa Valley

The nose is fresh, gourmand, aromatic, slighlty charming and offers minerality as well as a beautiful definition. It reveals notes of Williams pear, fresh lemon / quince combined with touches of mirabelle as well as slight hints of apple, a very discreet hint of papaya (in the background) and slight touches of oak. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, bright and offers a small juiciness, a beautiful definition, suavity, density, elegance, a slight fat as well as tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pear, mirabelle and quince associated with slight touches of vine peach, toasted oak as well as subtle / discreet hints of vanilla. Beautiful length. There is a slight hint of citrus zest on the persistence (comes to awaken taste buds).
