Staglin Family Vineyard Estate – Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 – 30th Anniversary Selection – Rutherford, Napa Valley

The nose is fruity, elegant and offers concentration as well as a beautiful definition. It reveals notes of cassis, blackberry and small notes of blueberry associated with discreet hints of morello cherry, liquorice, chocolate as well as very discreet hints of pepper, violet, black olives and imperceptible hint of dry local forest soil. The mouth is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers a beautiful acid frame, a beautiful definition, finesse, a beautiful structure, a slight tension, suavity, gourmandise, a very slight grainy sensation (in the background) as well as richness (but full of finesse and well-balanced). On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy cassis, juicy black berries and small notes of blackberry, wild strawberry associated with slight touches of ripe / juicy redcurrants, subtle hints of liquorice, cardamom, sweet spices, chocolate (in the background) as well as an imperceptible hint of tea, black olive and dry local forest soil. Tannins are fine and elegant. A very beautiful wine! The wine needs to be put in carafe.
