St Supéry – Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 – Rutherford, Napa Valley 

The nose is aromatic and offers power, concentration as well as complexity. It reveals notes of cassis, violet and small notes of cherry, blueberry associated with fine touches of crushed red berries, licorice, spices as well as discreet hints of menthol, pepper, chocolate and an imperceptible hint of dry forest soil. The mouth is fruity, elegant, racy and offers a beautiful definition, finesse, concentration, richness (well controlled), a beautiful density, a racy minerality, a beautiful structure, harmony, a beautiful gourmandise as well as an acid frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry / cherry, cassis and small notes of crushed blackberry, blueberry associated with touches of licorice, ripe / crushed strawberry, cocoa / tonka bean, spices, soil local forest as well as discreet / imperceptible hints of menthol (in the background). Tannins are fine, elegant and polished. Good length. There are a discreet hint of vanilla and a discreet hint of hazelnut on the aftertaste. (2020+)
