Serra Vineyards – Tempranillo 2014 – Applegate Valley, Southern Oregon

The nose is fruity, finely powerful and offers concentration and freshness (in the background). It reveals notes of cassis, boysenberry and wild small fruits associated with hints of wood, fine hints of flowers as well as touches of chocolate truffle, sweet spices and an imperceptible hint of hazelnut. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, finely silky and offers a fine suavity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy / crushed Boysenberry blackberry and touches of cassis, wood associated with subtle hints of ripe / crushed wild red berries, fine hints of tonka bean, subtle hints of vanilla as well as subtle hints of coffee and an imperceptible hint of hazelnut (in the background). Tannins are fine and slightly chewy.
