Sepp Moser, Riesling Beerenauslese – Niederösterreich – 2021

(demeter) The wine has a lemon-yellow color of medium intensity. The nose is fragrant, tangy and precise. It expresses notes of lemon jam, candied lime peel, roasted rhubarb, pan-fried apple, quince jam, as well as acacia, apple blossom, rose petals in syrup and a very slight menthol note. On the palate, the wine offers an excellent balance between sweetness and acidity. It expresses the flavors of lemon jam, lemon cream, quince jam, candied lemon peel, rosemary in syrup, peach in syrup, dried apricot, as well as refreshing hints of flowers of the apple tree and mint in sugar. The finish is long, with tangy and refreshing notes of candied citrus, a pleasant bitterness of grapefruit peel, with a good level of acidity, which counterbalances the high sugar content. A rich wine without being heavy, unctuous, pure and harmonious.
