Santa Sofia 2015 – Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico

The nose is elegant and offers a fine incisive side, a fine richness as well as a beautiful finesse of the grain. It reveals notes of crushed blackberry, cornflower, crushed blue plum associated with touches of crushed cassis, tonka bean, hints of caramelization, black olive, crushed strawberry as well as a very discreet hint of liquorice, vanilla pod and Cuben pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers juiciness, minerality, a fresh frame, a beautiful pulpy/fresh/juicy fruit, gourmandize, pulpiness and suavity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed cassis, juicy/fresh violet plum, small notes of crushed raspberry associated with touches of crushed blackberry, crushed wild strawberry as well as fine hints of fig, cedar, toasted as well as a very discreet hint of chocolate. Tannins are elegant and well-built.
