Roland Grangier – Côte Granits 2015 – Saint-Joseph

Roland Grangier – Côte Granits 2015 – Saint-Joseph

The nose is a bit powerful and offers a fine richness as well as a fine concentration. It reveals notes of liquorice, cassis and Bigarreau cherry associated with small touches of gray pepper, garrigue, racy minerality as well as slight touches of cocoa. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced, racy, quite gourmand and offers a good definition, a fine acid frame, tension, straightness as well as a (very) slight unctuosity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy / crunchy red berries, juicy wild raspberry and small notes of blackberry associated with small touches of laurel / olive as well as discreet hints of sweet spices. Tannins are well-built and slightly firm. There are hints of vanilla and tonka bean on the finish / persistence. Good length.
