Rodney Strong – Symmetry – Meritage 2012 – Alexander Valley – Sonoma

(79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Malbec, 6% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc) The nose is fruity, quite flowery and offers a certain elegance. It reveals notes of blackberry and blueberry associated with touches of cassis as well as small notes of raspberry candy, spice, oak and touches of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, mineral and smooth/dense. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of blackberry cream, slight notes of black cherry ant strawberry associated with a few slight notes of blueberry (in the background), a touch of salinity as well as fine notes of hazelnut in the background / on the finish. Tannins are fine and quite dry. Good length.
