Robert Mondavi – Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 – Napa Valley

The nose is fruity and offers a slight structure, a slight roundness, a slight concentration / power as well as a slight richness. It reveals notes of crushed cassis and slight touches of crushed fleshy boysenberry combined with subtle hints of crushed strawberry, discreet touches of gray pepper, as well as a very discreet / imperceptible touch of ripe red bell pepper (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, a bit aerial and offers  a slight freshness, minerality, a beautiful acid frame (in the background) as well as roundness. On the palate this wine expresses fine notes of juicy cassis, blackberry cream and juicy raspberry combined with slight touches of strawberry as well as subtle hints of juicy black berries, a few discreet woody hints as well as subtle / discreet hints of vanilla (in the background). Tannins are well-built and very slightly firm. Good length and good persistence. There are a very discreet hint of salinity and a touche of a dark chocolate square on the finish.
