Réserve de la Comtesse 2016 – Pauillac

Réserve de la Comtesse 2016 – Pauillac

The nose is aromatic, elegant and slightly powerful. It reveals slight notes of wild blackberry and ripe/fresh strawberry associated with slight hints of cassis, discreet hints of ripe raspberry as well as hints of caramelized oak, chocolate as well as a discreet hint of spices. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced, nicely racy (terroir), straight, fine and offers a beautiful freshness, elegance, minerality, tension, roundness, precision, a beautiful structure and gourmandise. A beautiful, straight, frank and precise wine! In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fresh/juicy blackberry, cassis and strawberry associated with a discreet hint of fresh/ripe small berries as well as touches of licorice, milk chocolate and caramel. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length and persistence. There is a hint of chocolate on the aftertaste. A nice level for a second wine!
