Ramos Pinto 2015 – Vintage Port

Ramos Pinto 2015 – Vintage Port

The nose is fruity, aromatic and offers a slight finesse / power (but full of finesse), precision as well as a good finesse of the grain. It reveals notes of fleshy blackberry, cassis jam and Gariguette strawberry combined with touches of cornflowers, slight hints of liquorice, eucalyptus as well as a very discreet hint of boxwood. The palate is fruity, fresh, juicy, beautifully balanced and offers a beautiful texture, a small richness, finesse, elegance, an acidulous frame, a slight minerality, a very slight tension as well as complexity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry, crushed blackberry and small notes of stewed cassis, fleshy raspberry associated with fine touches of juicy orange, juicy mandarin as well as slight hints of caramelization, sweet spices, dark chocolate, flowers and an imperceptible hint of blond tobacco (in the background). Tannins are fine, elegant and very slightly firm. Beautiful persistence. A small firmness on the finish. There is an imperceptible hint of almond on the aftertaste.
