Quinta do Cume – Selection 2013 – Douro

Quinta do Cume – Selection 2013 – Douro

The nose is aromatic and relatively powerful. It reveals notes of cassis and a hint of strawberry balsamic vinegar associated with slight notes of cassis, blackberry, slight touch of minerality as well as a hint of a very ripe strawberry, eucalyptus hint and discreet hints of sweet spices. The palate is fruity, mineral, juicy, well-balanced and offers a nice acid frame as well as a nice gourmand fruit. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of blackberry and juicy Quetsche plum associated with a slight touch of blueberry, Gariguette strawberry, raspberry and slight notes of racy minerality as well as touch of toasted oak, caramelization, vanilla and a discreet hint of flowers. Tannins are fine and very (very) slightly dry.
