Quinta do Couquinho – Dona Maria Adelaide 2013 – Vintage Porto

The nose is concentrated and offers a slight power / intensity. It reveals notes of crushed wild blackberry, blueberry and small notes of gray pepper associated with a small hint of flowers, oak as well as an imperceptible hint of wild berries and racy / rock minerality. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a beautiful definition / delicacy, a slight mineral frame, juiciness, fat, suavity as well as finesse. On the palate this Porto expresses notes of crushed cassis, crushed blackberry and strawberry associated with a subtle hint of cherry jam, a discreet hint of orange as well as slight touches of cedar wood, wood, spices and a subtle touch of black pepper on the finish.
