Quinta de la Rosa – 2016 Vintage Port

Quinta de la Rosa – 2016 Vintage Port

The nose is aromatic and offers a small power. It reveals notes of fresh red fruits and violet / lilac associated with small touches of cassis as well as very discreet hints of chocolate (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a good definition, a mineral frame, a small aerial side, tension as well as finesse. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy red berries, fleshy raspberry and small notes of blueberry, flowers, plum associated with slight touches of chocolate and sweet spices. The finish is a bit powerful. Good length. There are a hint of cocoa and caramelized hazelnut on the persistence / aftertaste. Tannins are elegant, supple and well-built. A beautiful wine.
