Quinta da Silval – Dorna Velha, 2013 Reserva – Douro

The nose offers concentration. It reveals notes of cassis, wild blackberry and small notes of very ripe wild berries associated with slight touches of scrubland (thyme, rosemary), ripe raspberry, hints of spices as well as a very discreet hint of Timut pepper (in the background) and toasted. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced, well-built and offers a good definition, a good definition, a good juiciness, precision, a slight tension, a good structure as well as a good finesse of the grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy / juicy blackberry, ripe cassis and small notes of ripe strawberry associated with touches of ripe blueberry, small juicy / fresh berries, a very discreet hint of scrubland (in the background) as well as slight hints of spices, toasted and chocolate. Tannins are well-built. A good wine !
