Prieur de Meyney 2022 – Saint-Estèphe

Prieur de Meyney 2022 – Saint-Estèphe

The nose is fruity, fresh and offers a certain intensity as well as an airy side in its power. We have notes of fresh ripe wild blackcurrant, graphite and small notes of fresh spices associated with touches of fresh black pepper, small, fairly ripe red berries as well as discreet hints of roasting. The palate offers a nice freshness, minerality, tension, a nice gourmandise, a nice energy as well as an airy side in its grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackcurrant, small bright black berries and more slightly small wild red berries associated with touches of racy minerality, a subtle almost roasted hint, fresh flowers (like violet and lily), iodine as well as discreet hints of cardamom and mocha in the base. The tannins are supple. The wine is silky with a discreetly tight grain. Nice work on the bitters.
