Poggio Santo 2020 – Chianti Classico

Poggio Santo 2020 – Chianti Classico

The wine has a bright ruby color, of medium intensity, with slight garnet reflections. The nose is aromatic, gourmand, fruity and floral. It expresses the fragrant notes of rose, peony and violet, associated with a gourmand and sweet fruitiness: the aromas of ripe morello cherry, red cherry jam, wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, dried red cherry, blackberry, black plum. We also find herbaceous aromas (fresh tobacco, dried mint, a touch of hay), a mineral hint (dry gravel, graphite) and some spiciness (white pepper, nutmeg, licorice). On the palate, the wine is supple, gourmand and fruity. It expresses notes of ripe morello cherry, red cherry jam, crushed raspberry, wild strawberry, cranberry jam and red currant jelly, combined with a floral bouquet (dried rose, peony), a touch of wild mint in the background, fresh tobacco, cocoa, as well as a fine spiciness (white pepper, nutmeg, licorice). The finish expresses a firm tannic structure and a sapid and gourmand texture of tannins, enveloped in a beautiful fruity substance and a beautiful acidity. The finish is moderately persistent, but savoury and gourmand.
