Poggio Mandorlo – Il Poggiomandorlo 2012 – Toscana IGT

The nose is racy and offers minerality, a fine power as well as a fine freshness. It reveals notes of fleshy/ripe blackberry, fleshy/ripe wild strawberry and small notes of fleshy/ripe raspberry associated with fine touches of toasted, chocolate as well as fine hints of caramelization and discreet hints of underwood. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a good definition, a small juiciness, straightness, a small freshness, complexity as well as gourmandize. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy cassis and small notes of wild raspberry associated with fine touches of toasted, underwood, very fine hints of black olive (in the background) as well as discreet hints of toasted almond, caramelization and a very discreet hint of underwood. Good length and good persistence. A very fine chew, suavity as well as a fine hint of caramelization and almost saline minerality on the finish/persistence. A beautiful wine !
