Poggerino Nuovo 2020 – Chianti Classico

(organic) The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers concentration and a certain complexity. It expresses the aromas of ripe strawberry, crushed strawberry, raspberry coulis, wild blackberry, a touch of cassis, morello cherry and crushed blueberry, combined with notes of dried thyme, mint, basil, a touch oregano, dried rose, liquorice, smoke, as well as a fine minerality. On the palate, the wine is supple and airy. We find notes of raspberry, fresh strawberry, morello cherry, roasted red cherry, crushed blueberry, a hint of cassis, as well as herbaceous notes (thyme, dried mint, basil), a floral hint (wildflowers), as well as a fine minerality and bitterness on the finish. The tannins have a fine texture but are slightly grippy (especially on the finish). Good persistence with notes of cranberries and bitterness. Lively salivating acidity.
