Pierre Naigeon – Les Charmottes 2016, Vieilles Vignes – Nuit-Saint-Georges

The nose is fruity and offers a small power, a fine fleshiness as well as intensity. It reveals notes of wild plum, cherry and small notes of wild blackberry associated with touches of wild strawberry, violet as well as a hint of lily and discreet hints of Sichuan pepper. The palate is mineral, fruity, well-balanced and offers a good definition, a good suavity, a small tension, straightness, finesse, energy, a good structure as well as a beautiful juicy/fleshy fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy blackberry, fleshy/juicy raspberry and small notes of juicy/fleshy Quetsche plum associated with small touches of tonka bean, violet as well as discreet hints of lily, mild tobacco and an imperceptible hint of nutmeg (in the background). Tannins are well-built and very discreetly dry. There is an imperceptible hint of underwood, almond and toasted on the persistence.
