Pierre Naigeon – En Vosne 2015, Vieilles Vignes – Gevrey-Chambertin

Beautiful racy nose and elegant. It offers a racy power, a beautiful grain as well as a certain intensity. It reveals notes of small ripe/fresh red berries, rose and small nots of pistil associated with touches of wild cassis, fine hints of sense of place as well as a very discreet hint of pepper and sense of the place. The mouth is fruity, well-balanced and offers juiciness, suavity, power in delicacy, a very nice salinity/sapidity, energy, verticality as well as a racy and discreetly tight grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of strawberry, pulpy/juicy cherry and small notes of rose associated with saline touches, juicy/tangy plum, slight hints of lily, sense of the place, racy minerality as well as a subtle toasted hint and toasted hazelnut. Good length. A subtle varietal hint and a beautiful work on the bitterness on the finish/persistence.
