Pelassa 2013 – Barolo

The nose is elegant, gourmand, racy, fine, slightly powerful and offers a small complexity. It reveals notes of blackberry, cassis and small notes of ripe red berries associated with fine touches of spices, toasted oak as well as a touch of gray pepper, black olive and an imperceptible hint of laurel. The palate is fruity, racy and offers fleshiness, unctuousity, a fine freshness, a racy minerality, a beautiful precision, a beautiful grain as well as an acid frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, wild strawberry and small notes of fleshy wild red berries associated with fine / small touches of cherry, sweet spices, black olive, toasted / caramelized oak as well as subtle / discreet hints of chocolate (in the background) and a very discreet hint of laurel (in the background). Tannins are fine, a bit firm as well as a bit tight. Good length. (2020+)
