Ornellaia 2022 – Bolgheri Superiore DOC

The nose is elegant, racy, precise and offers a beautiful complexity, a 3D/multi-layered aspect, as well as superbe finesse and intensity. It expresses a delicate approach despite a certain intensity, relative power, and deepness. It reveals notes of boysenberry, purple plum and small notes of wild small black fruits associated with touches of black pepper / maceron, small elegant-roasted red fruits as well as fine hints of quite ripe blueberry, almost gingerbread hints, nutmeg, toasted hazelnut, a discreet hint of sage, sweet spices, tobbaco and a very discreet hint of warm local grove / local biotope (sens of the place). The palate is beautifully built, supple, elegant, delicate, nicely harmonious, melodious and offers energy, richness, accuracy, delicacy, mellowness, an airy side, silkiness as well as concentration. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blueberry, wild black berries and small notes of black pepper associated with touches of camphor, terroir (sens of the place / soil character), fine hints of toasted/grilled as well as fine hints of bergamot, infusion, black olive, toasted/caramelized, discreet hints of small Mediterranean fruits and a hint of chocolate, toasted and grilled/roasted almond. Good length. Beautiful finesse and attention to detail.
