Negretti – Mirau 2014 – Barolo

The nose is fruity and offers elegance, a fine freshness as well as a fine power. It reveals notes of blackberry, caramelization and small notes of Quetsche plum combined with touches of crushed raspberry, violet, cornflower as well as a hint of cherry, tonka bean and slight hints of spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a juicy / acidulous frame, tension, a beautiful suavity, roundness, harmony, a racy minerality, a fine grain as well as a fine verticality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy / fresh blackberry, juicy/fresh Quetsche plum and small notes of raspberry associated with fine touches of cherry, hints of racy minerality (almost saline), cornflower, rose as well as discreet hints of nutmeg, tea and tonka bean. Tannins are structuring and fine.  Good length and persistence. A beautiful, acidulous, suave and gourmande persistence (with toasted hints / chocolate). Almost saline minerality on the persistence.
