Moon Harbour Pier 2 Blended Malt Whisky – Peated Edition – fûts de Château La Louvière

Nice copper amber color, limpid and bright. Nice intensity on the nose with a pronounced peat. It’s very smoky with hints of barbecue and cigar. Fruits appear discreetly behind such as candied pineapple, baked apple, orange zest and caramelized pecan nut. The palate is suave with the peat which arrives directly on the taste buds. However, there is fruit which forms a nice taste balance. There is bitter orange, stewed apple, prune, vanilla and a little touch of caramel. The smoky side is present in the middle of the mouth with always a barbecue flavor. The finish is spicy on pepper, shiitake and smoke.
