Monteverro 2019 – Toscana IGT

The nose is fruity, elegant, racy and offers a nice richness / gourmandise of fruit, some straightness / verticality, depth as well as a nice grain. There are notes of bright blackcurrant, bright boysenberry and more slightly of dark berries combined with hints of sense of place, salinity as well as fine almost vanilla, hazelnut, fresh black olive and a discreet hint of star anise. The palate is fruity, fresh, mineral, elegant, balanced and offers an acidic frame, accuracy, tension, depth, sapidity and precision. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crunchy dark berries, bright blackcurrant and more slightly combined with touches of salinity, wild strawberry, liquorice and a hint of fresh blond tobacco and mocha. The tannins are elegant, racy and offer a cashmere-like quality. Nice finish. Good length. Good work on the bitter taste. Good persistence.
