Mer Soleil – Chardonnay 2015 Reserve – Santa Lucia Highlands – Monterey County

The nose is fresh, fruity, slightly tight and offers a slight richness. It reveals notes of crushed brugnon, exotic fruits and subtle touches of quince combined with subtle touches of pineapple, a very discreet hint of kumquat as well as an imperceptible hint of oak / toasted hint. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, relatively tight and offers a beautiful fresh frame, a beautiful tension, richness, freshness as well as a slight unctuous matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of brugnon compote and crushed ripe green apple combined with touches of exotic fruit, a subtle touch of very ripe pineapple as well as subtle toasted hints and a very discreet hint of butter (in the background). Good length.
