Mas des Chimères, Nuit Grave – 2020, Terrasses de Larzac

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose has a medium intensity and expresses the aromas of small red berries (red cherry, red currant, cranberries) with a sweet hint of crushed strawberry and plum jam. There are also herbaceous notes of cherry leaf, fresh bay leaf, and wild mint and a very slight note of cut hay and minerality. On the palate, the wine is tense, with medium (+) level tannins and high acidity. The flavors are pronounced, with notes of tangy red fruits (red cherry, raspberry, cranberries) and more expressive minerality, than on the nose. There are also notes of white pepper and hay. The body has a medium level, and the tannins have a medium level and are a bit tight. The finish has a medium length (+), on the vivacity of red fruits, completed by mineral and peppery touches. Fresh, precise wine with a well-defined structure.
