Marrone Barolo Castellero 2021 – Barolo

Marrone Barolo Castellero 2021 – Barolo

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is expressive, smoky and roasted. It expresses notes of leather, roasted meat in the background (a touch of blood, slightly metallic), damp leaves, fresh tobacco. The fruity material combines notes of fresh fruit and maceration (fresh morello cherry, crushed raspberry, wild strawberry, amarena cherry), combined with notes of nutmeg, cumin and coriander seeds, cocoa, as well as violet and lily. The palate is fresh, tangy, with a touch of good bitterness of cranberries and grapefruit on the attack. It also expresses flavors of dried red cherry, raspberry, fresh red cherry, as well as spices (nutmeg, cumin, a hint of cardamom), cocoa, toasted almond, lily and violet in the background. Tannins are firm, but fine. The finish is persistent and savoury, with notes of fresh red cherry, roasted coriander seeds and roasted cherry. An expressive and gourmand wine.
