Marengo – Brunate 2014 – Barolo

The nose is fruity, well-built and offers gourmandise as well as a fine richness (in the background). It reveals notes of wild cassis and small notes of wild small red fruits associated with touches of raspberry, blackberry, hints of sweet spices, blond tobacco, toasted as well as a discreet hint of fresh leather and vanilla. The palate is fruity, delicate, suave, well built and offers gourmandise, a mineral frame, a good definition as well as a fine tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy raspberry and small notes of crushed red berries associated with small touches of liquorice, toasted, black olive as well as very discreet hints of vanilla and chocolate (in the background). Tannins are well-built. Good length.
