Marchesi Vineyard – Achille 2015 – Columbia Gorge

The nose is fruity, structured, racy and offers a fine straightness. It reveals slight notes of ripe black cherry and boysenberry associated with slight touches of ripe redcurrant, cassis, a hint of plum as well as subtle touches of earth and spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, racy and offers a slight mineral frame, a slight suavity, gourmandise, fat, a slight acidity, straightness as well as a nice structure. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of red cherry and cassis associated with slight touches of black cherry, a woody hint as well as subtle hints of cacao beans, sweet spices and subtle touches of vanilla. Tannins are fine and structuring. Good length.
