Malabaila – Mezzavilla 2015 – Barbera d’Alba Superiore

Malabaila – Mezzavilla 2015 – Barbera d’Alba Superiore

The nose is fruity and offers a beautiful intensity as well as a power (but full of finesse). It reveals notes of wild blackberry and small crunchy red berries associated with small touches of rose, spices, Cuben pepper as well as toasted hints (in the background) and very discreet hints of tea. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-built, a bit tight and offers a fine fleshiness, a slight acidulous frame, a good definition, a good finesse of the grain as well as a small gourmandise. On the palate this wine expresses notes of ripe / acidulous redcurrant, cherry and small notes of cassis associated with slight touches of chocolate, tonka bean, nutmeg as well as a very discreet hint of blond tobacco. Good length.
