Maison Chanzy – La Fussière 2018 – Maranges, Premier Cru

The nose is aromatic and offers power, a spicy side as well as a fine and slightly tight grain. The wine needs to be decanted (gives especially harmony). It reveals notes of violet, pulpy / fleshy cassis and small notes of of crushed wild strawberries associated with small touches of cherry blossoms, blackberry as well as hints of cornflowers, nutmeg, spices, green cardamom, fresh licorice and a subtle toasted hint. The palate is mineral, fruity and offers freshness, gourmandize, a beautiful finesse of the fat, roundness as well as a small concentration. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed strawberry, pulpy / fleshy blackberry and small notes of of cherry associated with touches of cherry blossoms, violets, bright blue plum, hints of zan, sweet spices, green cardamom, racy minerality as well as an imperceptible hint of pepper, leather and cocoa. Tannins are elegant and slightly mellow. Good length. Suavity and gourmandize on the finish / persistence.
