Lucien Muzard & Fils – Maladière 2015 – Santenay Premier Cru

Lucien Muzard & Fils – Maladière 2015 – Santenay Premier Cru

The nose is gourmand, elegant and quite aromatic. It reveals notes of coffee, plum and crushed black berries combined with hints of cherry, raspberry, as well as discreet touches of tonka bean, spices and an imperceptible hint of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, mineral, juicy, well-balanced, well-built, harmonious and offers a nice fat, a beautiful definition, elegance, a small freshness, a good guideline, a slight juiciness, volume as well as straightness, tension and gourmandise. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, juicy Quetsche plum, juicy raspberry and slight touches of cherry, cassis associated with discreet touches of mocha, sweet spices, wood as well as a very discreet hint of coffee and black tea (in the background). Tannins are fine and very slightly chewy. Good length.
