Louis Boillot – Vieilles Vignes 2018 – Moulin-à-Vent

The nose is fruity and offers a small concentration, intensity as well as a certain dynamism. It reveals notes of pulpy cherry, ripe red berries, small notes of fresh flowers associated with touches of crushed redcurrant, plum as well as very fine hints of violet, camphor, sweet spices and an imperceptible hint of pepper (in the background). The palate is fruity and offers a beautiful juiciness, gourmandize, a fine unctuosity as well as finesse of the grain, roundness and a good definition. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy cherry, raspberry, small notes of blackberry associated with touches of violet, lilac as well as fine hints of chocolate, liquorice stick and discreet hints of vanilla pod. Good length. Tannins are well-built and very finely chewy. A subtle chew on the finish/persistence. A persistence on notes of hazelnut and vanilla.
