Lithology by Alexandro Bulgheroni Estate – Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard – Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 – Oakville, Napa Valley

The nose is fruity, slightly tight and offers a slight intensity as well as a slight austerity. It reveals notes of fleshy wild blackberries, cassis and slight notes of black cherry associated with touches of fleshy redcurrants, a discreet hint of caramelized oak, black tea (in the background) as well as a subtle hint of cigar and cedar. The palate is fruity, slightly tight, melodious and offers a slight juiciness, a beautiful balance, gourmandise, roundness, a beautiful precision / definition, a very slight austerity, a beautiful finesse, a beautiful structure as well as a beautiful and silky matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry and cassis associated with small touches of ripe red fruits, slight / discreet touches of toasted oak, leather as well as a very discreet hint of vanilla, toasted hazelnut and chocolate. Tannins are fine and elegant. Good length. There are a subtle touch of dark chocolate and subtle touches of caramelized oak on the persistence.
