L’Extravagant de Doisy Daëne 2020, Barsac

On the nose, fresh, beautiful and offers elegance, concentration, power with finesse, a nice crystalline edge as well as intensity. It reveals notes of lemon, fresh zest and more lightly fresh berries combined with hints of fresh lychee, yuzu, sophisticated minerality as well as fine touches of fresh nutmeg and a discreet zest of lime/acacia. On the palate, fruity, elegant and offers juiciness, a very nice contained / controlled richness (all in finesse and subtlety), a nice purity of fruit as well as a tangy frame. A bomb of delicacy, finesse and elegance! The wine expresses notes of juicy/acidic quince, juicy/acidic mirabelle plum and slightly candied pear combined with hints of candied lemon, zest, fine touches of lemon blossom, verbena, a subtle waft of tart/ripe mango as well as discrete hints of yuzu, star fruit and elderflower. Nice length and tangy weight.
