Les Vignerons d’Uni-Médoc, Cave Saint-Jean, Le Grand Art 2020 – Médoc

Medium deep ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The nose is expressive and firstly reveals pronounced woody, spicy and roasted notes: toast, sweet coffee, vanilla and heated oak, cinnamon. We also find aromas of juicy black fruits: morello cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry, as well as very ripe red fruits (crushed strawberry, red cherry). There’s also a refreshing touch of chocolate with mint in the background. The palate expresses more freshness and fruit. In the attack, we find notes of tart red cherry, juicy morello cherry, fresh blackcurrant, blueberry and crunchy strawberry, while spicy and woody flavors appear in the finish (toasted, vanilla, a light touch of cinnamon and caramel, toasted oak). The tannins are grippy, but rounded by a salivating acidity and a fresh fruitiness. The finish is medium long, but juicy, fruity and spicy. A wine with structure and freshness, slightly dominated by wood.
