Les Pagodes de Cos 2016 – Saint-Estèphe

Les Pagodes de Cos 2016 – Saint-Estèphe

The nose is racy and offers minerality, a small structure as well as concentration.  It reveals notes of cassis, wild blackberry and more slightly wild red fruits associated with fine touches of Cuben pepper, cocoa, toasted and toasted hazel nut. The palate is fruity, juicy, suave, well-balanced and offers a beautiful definition, fleshiness, a good structure, a good finesse of the grain, a beautiful freshness, a beautiful minerality, a beautiful guideline/energy as well as an acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crunchy/juicy cassis, juicy cherry and more slightly fleshy raspberry, fleshy/juicy blueberry associated with discreet hints of tonka bean, cardamom, flowers (in the background) as well as an imperceptible hint of hazel nut and tea (in the background). Tannins are fine and well-built. There is a very discreet hint of gray pepper on the finish.
