Les Hauts de Smith 2019 – Pessac-Léognan

Les Hauts de Smith 2019 – Pessac-Léognan

The nose is nicely fresh, fruity and offers a certain delicacy and discreetly powdery grain. It reveals notes of fresh blackberry, violet and more slightly small ripe black fruits associated with fine hints of crushed raspberry, fresh sour cherry as well as discreet hints of lily, cuben pepper, licorice, sweet spices/toast and a hint of paprika. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers juiciness a mineral frame, gourmandize, a certain elegance, sapidity as well as a “easy to drink” approach. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy / pulpy blackberry, crushed raspberry and violet associated with touch of pulpy / fleshy small black fruits, licorice as well as fine hints of vanilla pod and a subtle a hint of hazelnut (in the background). Salinity and a very discreet chewiness on the finish / persistence. A pleasure and gourmet wine.
