The nose is quite aromatic and offers good definition, fruit and a fine spicy edge. There are notes of crushed wild blackberry, violet and, to a lesser extent, nutmeg, combined with hints of morello cherry, lilac and a fine touch of Sichuan pepper, tea, liquorice and a very discreet mineral/almost saline touch. The palate is mineral, balanced and offers fruit, juiciness, a nice freshness, straightness, gourmandise, tension and a discreetly tight grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of morello cherry, crunchy boysenberry and more slightly violet, lilac combined with hints of crushed red berries, blackcurrant as well as hints of Sichuan pepper, camphor, toast/caramel and a touch of chocolate. The tannins are finely mellow. Juicy, fresh, round and delicious.
