Les Griffons de Pichon-Baron 2017 – Pauillac

Les Griffons de Pichon-Baron 2017 – Pauillac

The nose is fruity, elegant, juicy, racy and slightly silky. It reveals notes of cassis, flowers (violet, lily) and more slightly wild raspberry associated with discreet touches of gray pepper, discreet touches of racy minerality, spices as well as an imperceptible hint of tea and spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, precise, slightly tight and offers juiciness, a beautiful structure, a good definition, suavity, a good freshness, a fine unctuosity as well as a fine tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry and fleshy/juicy raspberry associated with small touches of flowers (violet, lilac), liquorice, gravels (Graves) as well as discreet touches of caramelized oak, toasted and subtle/discreet touches of vanilla. Tannins are fine, elegant and very slightly chewy. Good length. There are very discreet hints of fresh almond and an imperceptible hint of coffee on the persistence.
