Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild 2022 – Pauillac

Nice fresh nose, intense and which offers a beautiful finesse, fullness as well as a beautiful power of the grain. It’s all in control with a fine velvety side. It reveals notes of small ripe/fresh black berries, wild blackberry and slight notes of fresh wild plum associated with touches of small red berries as well as hints of fresh lily, fresh saffron, slight hints of licorice stick as well as a subtle hint of rose and tobacco in the base. The palate is fresh, harmonious and offers minerality, balance, smoothness, a mineral/fresh frame confers, accuracy, smoothness as well as an airy or even falsely “light” side. There is roundness, fat and a certain lusciousness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy purple plum, bright blackcurrant and slight hints of violet associated with touches of crushed raspberry as well as hints of graphite, tonka bean, nutmeg, blond tobacco and a subtle note of iris. The tannins are fine, elegant, numerous and discreetly mellow. There is a nice tension and freshness. Very nice length in the mouth. Presence of a small infusion side that is found on the nose and in the mouth.
