Le Petit Haut Lafitte 2018 – Pessac-Léognan

The nose is fruity, racy and offers minerality, a fine freshness as well as a good finesse of the grain. It reveals notes of fleshy/crunchy blackberry and small notes of fleshy strawberry associated with fine touches of violet / flowers, discreet hints of liquorice stick as well as a hint of raspberry and chocolate. The palate is beautifully juicy, gourmande, well-balanced and offers an acidulous / juicy frame, a beautiful suavity as well as a good finesse of the grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy / juicy raspberry, fleshy / juicy cherry and small notes of fleshy / juicy blackberry associated with a touch of strawberry, racy minerality / flint, cocoa as well as a discreet hint of cardamom, tea and an imperceptible hint of vanilla. There is a touch of cocoa bitterness (pleasant!) on the finish.
