Le Coudray la Lande, Vielles Vignes 2018 – Bourgueil

Le Coudray la Lande, Vielles Vignes 2018 – Bourgueil

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity with light garnet reflections. The nose is concentrated and complex. The first nose expresses notes of dried flowers and herbs: rose, peony and dried mint, as well as tertiary notes of wet leaves and undergrowth. Then we find the spicy aromas of licorice, grated nutmeg, ground cumin and a touch of vanilla seeds, as well as infused green tea leaf. The aromas of the fruits that appear next are concentrated, even slightly sweet, but fresh at the same time, thanks to a touch of mint chocolate, which is found in the background. We also smell notes of crushed wild strawberries, raspberry coulis, crushed blackcurrant, a hint of prunes and fresh red currant. The palate is melted, silky, fragrant and complex. The attack combines notes of sweet spices (licorice, cumin, a hint of cinnamon and grated nutmeg) and fruits (black cherry jam, crushed wild strawberries, raspberry coulis, red currant jelly, red plum blackberry, crushed blackcurrant). Then, we find notes of undergrowth with a touch of mushrooms, flowers and dried herbs (rose, peony, mint). Beautiful length with cocoa notes, refreshed by a salivating acidity. The tannins have a velvety texture and a certain power. A complex and refined wine, which has evolved gracefully.
