Le Comte de Malartic 2021 – Pessac-Léognan

Le Comte de Malartic 2021 – Pessac-Léognan

The nose is fruity and reveals some power and a certain brightness of fruit. There are notes of bright/pulpy cherry, blackberry and more lightly ripe black berry fruit combined with light hints of violet, gravel/graphite as well as fine hints of star anise and fine almost iodine. The palate is fruity, elegant and reveals gourmandize, a nice brightness/juiciness/acidity of the fruit, a nice acidic backbone, finesse, dynamism, smoothness, harmony, purity (of the fruit) and a nice balance. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/sparkling cherry, raspberry and, more slightly, juicy/pulpy blackcurrant, combined with touches of bright red berries and fine iodine/salinity and very discreet hints of fresh flowers. Good length. The tannins are mellow.
